Peak leaf viewing in the Asheville area depends on the elevation. The best colors are expected to be between October 4th and about November 7th. For higher elevations, like the Smoky Mountains, peak color has already started. Many other areas -- like Asheville, Brevard, and Hendersonville -- can expect to see peak color in mid-to-late October. For late-season color, head to Upstate South Carolina, which will be at its boldest in early November. (more info)
