In addition to being beautiful, Aspen trees are noted for their ability to regenerate vegetatively by shoots and suckers along their long lateral roots. In aggregate, root sprouting results in many genetically identical trees called clones. All the trees in a clone have identical characteristics and share a root structure.
Aspen trees can be found locally in western North Carolina and northwestern Tennessee. However, you don't see many. If you want to plant an Aspen, you can purchase 3-18" trees from Amazon for $62 or call a local nursery.
