What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was when I dedicated a year of my life volunteering full-time for the International Jane Goodall Institute. I promoted Dr. Jane's youth program, called Roots and Shoots, in the local schools in the Hudson Valley portion of New York State. During that time, I got close with Dr. Jane and her staff. When I started my nonprofit, Dr. Jane agreed to be on my board of directors. I was thrilled to have her and remember how proud I was to have accomplished this. She is a legend!
What is your favorite tree?
My favorite tree is the Redbud. I love the purple flowers and the color the leaves turn in the fall. I am lucky enough to have two on my property.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is playing in the woods with my neighbor, Gail. We built forts and even found a baby rabbit that needed rescuing when its mother and siblings were killed. We raised that rabbit and took good care of it until we released it back in the woods when it was off of milk. I would like to think it lived a long, happy life because of our care for it.
