A little closer to Asheville is the annual Dogwood Festival in Mebane, NC. The dogwood tree is beautiful all year round. In the summer it’s deep green; in the fall, it sheds berries and its leaves turn to a deep burgundy. This year the festival is on April 22nd and 23rd.
